Day 1
Our flight on Westjet was at 8:50pm. At the airport, we happened to meet up with Christine's uncle Bob (Uncle Bob!!), so we sat and chatted a bit while we waited for the flight to board. 5 or 6 hours later, we arrived at the Vegas airport at 11:30pm (In Toronto, that would be 2:30am). We took a shuttlebus to the Paris hotel, checked in, went to our room and walked around the hotel for a bit before going to sleep.
Hotels in Vegas are extremely extravagent...not your bland Holiday Inn style hotels. Slot machines and card tables over most of the ground floor, all strategically placed so you have to go through the gambling area to get to restaurants, the hotel room elevator and even the check-in counter. Obviously, the Paris hotel's theme was...well, Paris, so the floor was cobblestone-like, the sky was blue with clouds, all the shops and restaurants look like the ones in the real Paris. Even the security guards' uniforms look like the police in Paris. Best of all, it was air-conditioned!
